Privacy Policy

FlyAit collects only what it needs to deliver your trip. We don’t sell your data. We don’t profile you for advertising. You can delete your account and your data at any time.

Introduction

FlyAit, LLC (“FlyAit,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the FlyAit mobile application (the “App”) and our website at flyait.com (the “Site”), how we use that information, and the choices you have.

By using FlyAit, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Apple Sign-In: when you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous user identifier and optionally your name. We do not receive your email unless you choose to share it.
  • Flight information: flight numbers, dates, and routes you enter so we can show your trip information.
  • Default address: an optional saved location you enter to compute drive time. Stored on your device. Never uploaded.
  • Preferences: your notification toggles, default airport, and similar in-app settings.

Information collected automatically

  • Device identifiers: a hashed device identifier so we can send push notifications and prevent abuse of the chat assistant.
  • Location (only when you ask): when you tap “Current Location” or activate journey monitoring (Autopilot members), we read your GPS coordinates to calculate drive time and detect arrival milestones. Location is used in-the-moment and not retained on our servers as a continuous trail.
  • Crowdsourced TSA reports: if you submit a TSA wait time, your wait estimate is associated with the airport you reported from. Anonymous. We don’t connect it to your account.
  • App performance data: standard usage telemetry (app version, crash logs) so we can fix bugs.

Information we do NOT collect

  • Your contacts, photos, or browsing history outside the App.
  • Your continuous location when the App is closed (unless you explicitly enable Autopilot journey monitoring, which uses Apple’s standard region monitoring).
  • Personal information from third parties.

How We Use Information

  • To show your flight details, drive time, TSA wait, and other trip data.
  • To send the push notifications you’ve enabled (leave-by alerts, gate changes, etc.).
  • To provide the Tower Chat assistant (powered by Anthropic Claude).
  • To improve crowdsourced TSA wait accuracy across all users.
  • To prevent abuse (rate limits, usage caps).
  • To process subscription purchases (handled by Apple. We do not see your card information).
  • To respond to your feedback or support requests.

Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on the following third-party services to operate FlyAit. Each handles a specific function and never receives more data than necessary:

  • Apple App Store: account, subscription, and payment processing.
  • FlightAware: flight schedule and status data.
  • Apple Maps: drive-time calculations.
  • National Weather Service (US government): airport weather.
  • TSAWaitTimes.com: TSA security wait forecasts.
  • Anthropic (Claude): the AI behind Tower Chat and Pre-Flight Check.
  • ElevenLabs: text-to-speech voice synthesis for the Autopilot Adam voice. Receives Tower’s text replies for audio rendering; no user voice or PII is sent to ElevenLabs.
  • Supabase: our database hosting (US-based).
  • Vercel: our serverless backend hosting (US-based).
  • Expo Push Service: push notification delivery via Apple Push Notification Service.

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any of them.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With the third-party services listed above, strictly to provide the App’s features.
  • With members of your “Ground Crew,” but only the trip you explicitly choose to share via a Ground Crew link, and only the trip details you allowed.
  • When required by law (subpoena, court order, valid government request).
  • To protect FlyAit’s rights and safety (fraud prevention, abuse investigation).

Your Choices and Rights

  • Notifications: control per-type via Profile → Push Notifications. Disable any time via iOS Settings → Notifications → FlyAit.
  • Location: control via iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → FlyAit.
  • Default address: remove at any time via Profile → Quick Settings.
  • Ground Crew links: expire automatically 48 hours after your flight’s arrival. They self-expire and cannot be revoked manually.
  • Account deletion: contact us at support@flyait.com to delete your account and associated data. We will respond within 30 days.
  • California and EU residents: you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children’s Privacy

FlyAit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention

  • Flight trip data: stored on your device. Removed when you delete the trip or after 6 hours past arrival (auto-archive).
  • Push notification tokens: retained as long as you have notifications enabled.
  • Crowdsourced TSA reports: aggregated and retained indefinitely for accuracy modeling. Anonymous, not tied to your account.
  • Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted on request.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS in transit, encrypted database storage, service-role authentication, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. No system is perfectly secure. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of FlyAit after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
